THE EAGLE'S DROPPINGS
So, "jejely", I was listening to Qdot's version of Olamide's 'air-banned' Wo. Then, Qdot's lyrics shocked me! It reminded me of something of such Olamide said in his 2Baba Zone. It is about what will happen if things continue to go this way. Qdot sang and I quote;
"... emo ti y'obon soloko
Ekute n para f'olongbo...
He also said in another part;
.... e je n sare ran won leti o
Latsma lo gba soldier leti o
Okada n wo tipper lo o... "
This lyrics to who understand it, is purely revolutionary.
Come to think of it, how can a bush rat pull a gun on the hunter or the house rat shout on the cat! In present day Nigeria, can a LASTMA official slap a soldier for commiting an offense to the law? Or can a motorbike be used to tow a truck?
This simply indicates that power will exit the homes of its current masters and go to the oppressed.
Even the "CHANGE" is not changed! Same old face since 19-God-knows-when.
Olamide had actually said something similar too and here is what he has to say on the future of Nigeria;
"... when the rich man dey cuddle anytime it dey rain,
poor man dey pack water inside im house with im plate
enough propaganda, thunder da pada.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
And the youths, we are not confused,
We just dey wait make dem finish before we go loose..."
The words of this guy has made me to realise the powers of youthfulness in contrast to Nigeria's current situation. We're now in trouble because people think what our fathers are doing is right but in the real sense, the youths think its time they left. This issue is just like repackaging an old wine in a new bottle, it'll still taste the same!
My concluding paragraph goes to President Buhari and all other politicians who think the citizens are dumb and can be manipulated for votes. Here's what Qdot has to say to you;
"... e bami pe Sai Baba o
won file le, so de da o
awon araalu wa n jeka
bo'ya won a ni ka teka... "
In reference to those who do not understand Yoruba, I will try as much as possible to depict what the singer said. He said that someone should call the President telling him to come home and asking if his absence is good (this song was released when the President was not around) making the people suffer in his absence. And when it is time for election, they (politicians) know how to approach them (the citizens).
Little did the proverbial hunter, Ogungbe know that the antelope is now wise. Ogungbe is standing on his toes to see if he can find the antelope, the antelope on the other hand is squatting to avoid Ogungbe.
